The Pennsylvania Wilds, comprising 12 counties in northcentral Pennsylvania, is within a day's drive of the major metropolitan areas of the East Coast and the Midwest (only 10 hours from Chicago). It's the largest block of public land between New York and Chicago.

Interstate 80 – This east-to-west highway runs through the central portion of the state, accessing the southern portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Route 15 – This picturesque roadway winds from north to south through the central portion of the state, accessing the eastern portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Route 6 – This historic and scenic roadway runs from east to west through the northern tier of the state, accessing the northern portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Route 219 – This north-to-south roadway winds through the western portion of the state, accessing the western portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Route 120 – An official state scenic byway called the Bucktail Trail runs from Route 220 in Lock Haven to Route 219 in Ridgway.

Route 62 – This picturesque roadway winds from north to south from New York to Ohio in the western portion of the state; it accesses the western side of the Pennsylvania Wilds.
