The Pennsylvania Wilds, comprising 12 counties in northcentral Pennsylvania, is within a day's drive of the major metropolitan areas of the East Coast and the Midwest (only 10 hours from Chicago). It's the largest block of public land between New York and Chicago.

Whether you're strolling through a historic town, browsing the shops and antique stores along one of our idyllic main streets, indulging in an outdoor adventure, or learning about one of the region's early industries, your day will be filled with new and unforgettable experiences.

So slow down, take the nearest exit, and make your roadtrip through the Pennsylvania Wilds completely memorable.

Interstate 80 – This east-to-west highway runs through the central portion of the state, accessing the southern portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Route 15 – This picturesque roadway winds from north to south through the central portion of the state, accessing the eastern portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Route 6 – This historic and scenic roadway runs from east to west through the northern tier of the state, accessing the northern portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Route 219 – This north-to-south roadway winds through the western portion of the state, accessing the western portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

Route 120 – An official state scenic byway called the Bucktail Trail runs from Route 220 in Lock Haven to Route 219 in Ridgway.

Route 62 – This picturesque roadway winds from north to south from New York to Ohio in the western portion of the state; it accesses the western side of the Pennsylvania Wilds.
